Meet Stephanie and Elaine, author and illustrator superhero tag team! What brought them together you ask? Only a love for live music, creative ideas, desserts, and caffeinated work days in aesthetically pleasing cafes.  Both are part of the Sofar Sounds music community, former Torontontians that now call Vancouver home, and part of the unofficial “anti-pickle” club. What sets them apart? Their polarized views on cats (Elaine is a cat mom of two) and brussels sprouts. Did I mention they also share a beautiful dream to make the world a little sweeter?

Elaine is a Sheridan college graduate with a bachelor of animation. She is currently a video game artist and loves to swing dance. She has illustrated a few self published books and recently released one published book! If you asked her, she would definitely choose watercolour as her favourite art medium.

Stephanie has an insatiable love of travel. She’s lived in Australia, Vietnam, and in the summer is usually found with a backpack strapped on her back chasing sunsets…somewhere in the world.She received her Bachelor of Education degree at UBC and has been teaching the third grade for the last 4 years. This story has been inspired by her classroom with the furry green carpet and the small humans that she’s had the pleasure of teaching.
